Two-person, large items
Panther Logistics van leasing
A delivery company that is a limited company or LLP leases a van from FleetMe on business contract hire over terms up to 12 months. Two-person delivery of furniture and appliances needs volume, a tail lift and seats for two crew, and each of those takes payload before anything is loaded. Individuals and sole traders take hire of up to 12 months. FleetMe is not connected to Panther Logistics.

Delivering large items into homes is the least parcel-like work in this trade. Few drops, bulky goods, two people in the cab, and a customer watching while you carry a washing machine through their hallway. The vehicle has to be chosen around all four.
Three things take payload before you load anything
Start with the plated weight, subtract the vehicle, and what is left is the payload. On this work three things eat into it before the first item goes on board. A box body is heavy. A tail lift is heavy, and a column lift more so. A second crew member is another person's weight in the cab every day. Large domestic goods are bulky rather than dense, so volume usually binds before weight does, but the arithmetic still has to be done. Our Luton page sets out the volume against payload trade-off in full, and it is the same trade-off here.
Access, driveways and getting to the door
Home delivery of large items happens at addresses never designed for a commercial vehicle. Narrow residential roads, parked cars, a low bridge on the approach, and driveways with a turning circle measured in inches. A vehicle sized purely for the biggest item you carry can be the one that cannot reach half your customers. The realistic answer is usually the smallest body that still takes your normal load, with the tail lift doing the heavy work rather than sheer size.
Protecting the load area protects the hand-back
Furniture and appliances move around, and they mark a load bay faster than parcels ever will. Blankets, straps and a proper lining are not optional on this work, and a lining fitted at the start costs a fraction of making good a scraped load floor at the end. Fit it with our written agreement, keep the original parts, and photograph the interior at delivery and again at collection. The BVRLA standard is the reference point at hand-back for both sides, and it is more specific than most operators expect.
What underwriting looks at
A lease of up to 12 months is a longer commitment than a short-term hire, and underwriting looks at the business, its directors and whether the monthly rental is comfortably affordable, not at the round you have been offered. A courier company with a clean payment record behind it gets the most straightforward answer. None of that is a promise of approval, and we will tell you quickly if we cannot help.
The vans we supply for this work
Small, medium and large. Which one fits depends on the round (drop density, parcel size and where you are loading) and that is a conversation, not a filter. Every figure is read from our rate sheet.
Prices are guide figures ex VAT, pictures are illustrations, and nothing here is stock standing on a forecourt. What that means →
How to read these listings
Prices: Monthly rentals shown are guide prices and exclude VAT unless labelled otherwise. They are indicative “from” figures quoted against a 12-month term at the mileage allowance shown for the vehicle, and they move with the exact variant, the mileage, the initial rental and the outcome of underwriting. Last reviewed 1 September 2026. We confirm your actual monthly rental, and what it includes, in writing before anything is agreed.
Images: Vehicle images are computer-generated illustrations of a representative example, not photographs of the vehicle supplied. Exact trim, colour, body length, roof height and equipment vary by specification.
Availability: Listings show the vehicles we can supply, not stock held on site. Specific variants, trim levels, body conversions and delivery dates depend on factory lead times and availability at the time you order, and some vehicles are build-to-order. Nothing is reserved for your business until we confirm it in writing. If we cannot get the exact vehicle you have asked for, we will tell you and set out the closest alternative we can. Delivery is to business addresses in England and Wales, and we confirm the arrangements, the timing and any delivery cost on your quote.
Delivering as a self-employed driver?
You are covered. We supply sole traders too, over terms up to 12 months. You do not need to incorporate first and you do not need filed accounts.
Worth checking before you enquire: the allowance is 2,000 miles a month. Multi-drop rounds often run well past that, and mileage over the allowance is charged, so tell us your weekly mileage and we will be straight with you about whether it works.

Common questions
Is FleetMe connected to Panther Logistics?
No. We are not connected to, endorsed by or a supplier to Panther Logistics. We lease vans to delivery companies whoever they carry for, and their requirements are theirs to confirm with you.
Can you supply a van with a tail lift?
Yes. A tail lift is a conversion fitted to the vehicle, so it is specified and priced at the start rather than added later, and it takes payload. Tell us the heaviest single item and whether the crew needs a column or a cantilever lift, and we will quote it properly.
Is a Luton the right vehicle for two-person home delivery?
Often, because the work is bulky rather than dense and a box body buys the most volume inside 3.5 tonnes. It is not automatic. If the round is tight residential streets, a large panel van that can actually reach the address beats a Luton that cannot.
Can a sole trader lease a Luton with a tail lift?
Not from us. Business contract hire is for limited companies and LLPs. As an individual or sole trader the product is vehicle hire of up to 12 months, whatever the vehicle.
